The Manyeleti Game Reserve is accessible in a variety of ways. The reserve is easily accesible by car or plane.


Getting to Manyeleti by air

Numerous flight options are available for those who want to visit Manyeleti Nature Reserve. Both Airlink and Cemair offer flights Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport (HDS) and Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (MQP). From all airports in the vicinity of the reserve it is possible to continue the journey to your Manyeleti safari lodge by means of a road transfer. We recommend flying directly from Johannesburg or Cape Town to Hoedspruit as this is the nearest airport and is serviced multiple times per day. The road transfer from Hoedspruit to Manyeleti takes around one hour.


Manyeleti lodge hops

The most exciting way of arriving at your Manyeleti safari lodge is by making use of a so called "lodge hop". This is an air transfer made by means of a small aircraft. These short charter flights may be arranged from Hoedspruit Airport, Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport and Phalaborwa Airport. All lodges in the Manyeleti Game Reserve have their own airstrip. These short flights are an experience in itself and very scenic as the aircraft will stay at a low altitude offering you picture perfect views over variety of game reserves in the area.


Getting to Manyeleti by road

There is an excellent tar road from Johannesburg (about a six-hour drive) that leads you to Manyeleti. The last eight kilometres inside the Manyeleti Reserve concerns an untarred road (can be driven in regular 2 x 4 vehicle). The Manyeleti access gate is very close to Kruger National Park's Orpen Gate. When travelling on the R40 between Hazyview and Phalaborwa one turns left at the Orpen signpost and continue until you see the Manyeleti Reserve sign (after approximately 36 kilometers). Pass the South African Wildlife College on your left and just further on turn right to enter the Manyeleti Game Reserve. Proceed on for 200 meters to the Manyeleti entrance gate where an entrance fee is payable. If you miss the turnoff to the Manyeleti you will arrive at Orpen Gate of Kruger National Park some 4 kilometers further. You will need to turn around and find the Manyeleti reserve entrance on the left hand side as you head back.


Manyeleti access gate

Manyeleti has one access gate. Access is via Orpen Gate road. Guest will be charged an entrance fee of ZAR 121.00 per adult per day; children pay ZAR 61.00 per day. There is also an additional charge per vehicle (car/ minibus ZAR 50.00) and a community levy applies of ZAR 75.00 per person. These rates are subject to change. Fees are payable at the gate. Manyeleti Reserve Gate Opens at 06h00 and closes at 18h00. Should your arrival be later than 16h00 or should you require assistance, please contact your accommodation.
